At 4pm yesterday afternoon, the opening ceremony of the 8th China Hi-Tech Fair
2006 is successfully held in northern plaza of Shenzhen Convention and
Exhibition Center. The ceremony is presided by Mr. Wei Jianguo, Vice
President of China Hi-Tech Fair Organizing Committee, and Vice Minister of
the Ministry of Commerce. Mr. Xu Zongheng, General Director of China
Hi-Tech Fair Organizing Committee, Mayor of Shenzhen Municipal Government, 
gave a speech in the ceremony. Vice Premier Wu Yi declared the opening of the Fair. Thousands of representatives and invited guests and about 1000 journalists from all over the world attended the opening ceremony.
